iPad Wi-Fi connection persistance

Vyking:
When my iPad awakes, it always automatically connects to my home network if I'm in range.  But, to reestablish the SkyRadar connection, I need to go to Settings > Wi-Fi and tap the SkyRadar0001 network each time I wake up the iPad.  Is there a way to avoid these steps?
