Title: Skyradar DX issue
Post by: cirrus_pilot on January 12, 2016, 12:42:52 PM
Hi,
I purchased this unit new a few months ago. It worked great but recently I had the GPS antenna wire pinched and since then the unit will not lock onto the GPS. I purchased a new antenna locally but still no GPS lock or AHRS.  Does this unit need a special GPS antenna and if so, where do I purchase it?
Thanks
pilot

If the cable gets shorted (which usually what happens when it is pinched) it will blow fuse in GPS antenna power supply. Power supply is designed to provide 5v no more than 200ma current, so any external antenna that is used needs to match this specs.
Most likely unit needs to be returned for a service.
